September Featured Maker: Deanna Ferry

Deanna is an enthusiastic miniaturist who fell in love with the hobby nearly 20 years ago when her oldest daughter wanted a Victorian dollhouse kit for Christmas. Although her daughter enjoyed the dollhouse for many years, it was Deanna who really developed a passion for all things mini.

Over the years, Deanna has learned how to make many of her own mini accessories. She has also found some amazing vintage items on Craigslist, which help to make her hobby more affordable. In 2017, she found a large partially constructed Queen Anne dollhouse that had been started by a gentleman who passed away before finishing it. Deanna completed construction and donated the dollhouse to Redstone Highlands in Murrysville, conducting classes for residents to make mini items to help decorate it. It has been a very enjoyable community art project.

Deanna lives in Export and works at the Blackburn Center. She is excited to have found Rewind Reuse Art Center and is looking forward to conducting classes there.

Sign up for one of Deanna’s classes! Precious Littles for adults & teens or Mini Madness for grades 3-6. Check out our home page for details!
